More Sanding...

The interior is in pieces, all of the wood has been sanded, except for the forward bulkhead. Tomorrow that last section will be completed and the fine hand sanding will prepare the surface for the stain and the varnish.

The cabin is already looking brighter with the old brown stain and varnish removed.

On Friday after the cushions (which are all stored in the vee-berth) are taken to be reupholstered the door for the cabin can come off together with the entry door to sand flat off the boat. A couple more hours sanding & prep and the fun can begin!

The hanging locker and forward bench on the starboard side opposite the helm station.

Another view of the forward bench.

Dinette and hanging locker doors, and drawers. The chopping board is made of maple and had seen very little use. When Uniflite built the board, they made it double sided with a handle on each end to last several lifetimes. It has all been sanded smooth and the few knife marks that were there have been sanded out. It is as good as new - both sides.
